A few bees killing a wasp that was trying to raid the nuc hive.
Welcome to Tractor Apiaries, a local start up bee business located near Sanger CA. I have just gotten into the beekeeping hobby earlier this year. Currently I have several hives that I would like to rent out during pollination season to local farmers. My plans for this blog are to post answers to common questions regarding the beekeeping hobby and business, as well as other bee related topics.

Honey Color Comparison
This a photo the color differences between orange honey (right) and wildflower (left). The top containers are plastic, but the bottom one are glass so the coloration is easier to see. And yes, each flavor/variety taste different.
Each of this is a 1 lb. jar and approximate 12 fl oz honey. Honey is denser then water by an approximate ratio of 4:3 (honey:water). A gallon of honey weights 12 lbs and a gallon of water weights 8 lbs.
